Call of Duty: Black Ops (also known as simply Black Ops) is the seventh main installment of the Call of Duty series and is currently being developed by Treyarch.^[2] The confirmation of the game's development was leaked by David Kim, a senior animator at Treyarch, in May 2009. Black Ops is said to be set in various locations, including Vietnam and Cuba, ^[3] and judging from weaponry and dates given in the trailer, it is set between 1960 and 2010. It is planned to be released on November 9, 2010.^[4] Treyarch has stated that Black Ops will be much grittier than Modern Warfare 2 and that the differences between World at War and Black Ops will be as significant as the differences between Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.^[5] The trailer released on May 18, 2010 indicated that the game will be significantly more story-oriented and will focus on military cover-ups during the Cold War. Treyarch has also said that Black Ops will feature considerably more stealth than any previous entries in the Call of Duty series.

Borderlands is a science fiction first-person shooter with RPG elements (a role-playing shooter) that was developed by Gearbox Software.

Borderlands features four player online cooperative play, which allows players to join and leave games whenever they want to, along with other single-player and multiplayer modes and a large number of weapons. Players can choose from four different playable characters who each have their own unique abilities and skill trees. In addition, players may have access to customizable vehicles for "vehicular combat" and will also be able to customize their pre-selected character. Defeated enemies will sometimes drop equipment, which is then available for players to pick up. The game is described by Gearbox Software as an "RPS," or "role-playing shooter."

Like traditional RPGs, much of the player's time is taken up by quests. There are 160 quests of varying length and complexity, 30 of these being part of the story and the other 130 as side quests. Many of these quests are not mutually exclusive, and can be completed together. Each quest carries its own rewards, such as new weapons, or perhaps revealing a new piece of the story. After beating the game, a second play through becomes available, with the same character statistics but with harder enemies. The same quests are available, but with better rewards.

At any time while playing Borderlands, a player can melee another player to issue a challenge. When the melee is returned, a player vs. player "duel" starts. Players can also travel to "arenas" located at various locations in the game world. These arenas are specifically made for competitive play, where players can face off in both Free-For-All styled games or 2 versus 2 team-based games.
